| Service Description: | Little Acorns opened 24 years ago and has built a reputation for delivering the highest standard of care and education. The nursery is owned by Elaine Campbell and managed on a day-to-day basis by Hayley Price. The owner and staff team share a passion for delivering excellence in childcare and early years education. We are committed to providing kind, compassionate and individual care for all children. We provide an enabling environment in which all children can learn through play and develop to their full potential. We are lucky to be situated in the lovely countryside of the Golden Valley and we like to spend a lot of our time outdoors. We have three main rooms for babies, toddlers and pre-school children. All our rooms are equipped with high-quality, educational resources and each room has a safe outside play area. We provide healthy, balanced meals, freshly prepared on the premises. Additional services/activities and consumables provided at Little Acorns (above and beyond those in the EYFS document):
• Consumables such as mid-morning and mid-afternoon snacks, suncream, wipes.
• Local trips/outdoor off-site activities. Costs include the purchase and maintenance of our six-seater ‘Kiddibus’ for outings with babies and toddlers. We also provide children with wet-weather clothes, hi-vis jackets, and wellies.
• Forest School sessions for three and four-year-olds, including specialised equipment, training costs and insurance.
• Nursery allotment and gardening activities.
• Cooking sessions for the children.
• Music and movement classes in the local village hall (two – four year olds)
• Visits from musicians and performers.
• Minibus trips (three and four-year-olds)
• Seasonal events and cultural celebrations such as the Nativity, Christmas parties and presents, leavers’ trips and gifts, open days and parents’ evenings.
The voluntary Additional Service Contributions (ASCs) are set as follows:
• Children under 2 years: £4.00 per day (includes consumables: £1.50/day + additional activities: £2.50/day)
• 2-year-olds: £5.00 per day (includes consumables: £1.50/day + additional activities: £3.50/day)
• Children over 3 years: £6.00 per day (includes consumables: £1.50/day + additional activities: £4.50/day)
Meal Charges
• Breakfast (7.30 a.m. – 8.30 a.m.): Under 3’s: 88p, Over 3’s: £1.10
• Lunch (11.30 a.m. – 12.30 p.m.): Under 3’s: £2.20, Over 3’s: £2.75
• Light Tea (3.40 p.m. – 4.20 p.m.): Under 3’s: £1.31, Over 3’s: £1.64
Additional (non-funded) hours provided are charged at a rate of £7.75 per hour
