Service Description:We aim for the children to be happy to come into a school environment in preparation for Reception class. All areas of the EYFS are covered by topics initiated by the children's experiences. We have excellent transition into Reception class. The Reception teacher regularly comes into Nursery and we join Reception class for stories and other activities throughout the year. We use all the school facilities including visits to the High School for cooking and story time in their library. The children are familiar with other staff in the Primary School as they come into read stories and help with PE activities.
We join the whole school for special assemblies, sports days and fundraising activities.
We have excellent parent interaction which includes termly parents’ evenings, Harvest lunch, The Nativity, an Easter Parade and end of year sports day and picnic. Daily communication also occurs. We take the children on day trips and visit our local residential home for the elderly, joining the residents for activities that are suitable for all. We have an amazing environment where we are able to go for regular walks to look at the changing seasons and nature.
