Service Description:
Bargates Children’s Centre was established in 1997. It is housed in a beautifully converted Victorian school (originally known as the ‘British School’ in 1861) situated near the centre of Leominster in the Bargates Conservation Area. Standing well back from the road Bargates provides a safe, stimulating, fully equipped and homely environment in which children from the age of 3 months can play, learn and grow.
Day care and education is under the control of Gillian Bilbrough B.Ed. (Hons) a qualified and experienced teacher (trained in the age range 0-9 years) and a mother of four children. A team of highly motivated and suitably qualified staff work to respond to the needs of the children. Standards of care exceed the legislative requirements.
The centre has achieved the ‘Growing Together’ quality assurance award and consistently received a ‘good’ Ofsted outcome until it’s 20th year in 2017 when Ofsted rated Bargates as ‘Outstanding’.
Whether you decide to use our services on a full or part-time basis, you may be assured that your child will spend happy hours at Bargates engaged in enjoyable and worthwhile activities, closely supervised in small, age specific, groups.
The personal development of the individual child is actively encouraged by providing a variety of planned activities and free play situations which create opportunities for learning. Through play and practical activities children are encouraged to reach their
full potential in all areas of development. Children’s interests and abilities are used as a basis for the planning of age and stage appropriate experiences.
At Bargates children are given the opportunity to practise a wide range of skills through activities which will encourage enthusiasm and excitement for learning. The experiences at Bargates will contribute to all aspects of a child’s development and will encourage creativity & individuality.
