Service Description:Muddy Boots Pre-school, is based within the grounds of Burghill Community Academy (BCA) in the rural village of Burghill. Our purpose built setting opened in September 2020, providing a warm and welcoming environment for all.
Our highly qualified staff provide a variety of opportunities and activities to promote children’s learning and development in a spacious and inviting environment. The secure outdoor area provides an abundance of resources, including a sensory garden, fairy garden, mud kitchen, sand and water play. We are fortunate to share the beautiful school grounds, which we are free to explore. The children enjoy the fully equipped Forest School area, playing fields, and the school facilities.
The large, bright and airy Pre-School offers plenty of space to play, learn and explore with activities such as; painting, small world toys, role play, and many more stimulating resources are available. In addition to this, we have just had an extension built, which has been equipped to provide a calming sensory room. We also use this space for small group work.
Muddy Boots and BCA reception class work in partnership to ease the transition into school. The reception class teacher, Ms Astley, frequently spends time in Muddy Boots, getting to know the children.
Throughout the early years, your child’s development and progression is recorded using Tapestry. This is a secure online learning journey, which can only be accessed by parents/carers. Parents’ evenings are held on a regular basis, so that parents can discuss their child’s progress.
We take children from aged 2 years and accept 2, 3 and 4 year old NEF funding. Our sessions are 8:45am – 3:15pm, half day sessions are available from 8:45am – 11:45am or 11:45am – 3:15pm. Muddy Boots is open Monday to Friday and Term Time only. There is wrap around care available from 7:45am – 5:30pm this has an additional charge. We currently offer 20 daily spaces.
