| Service Description: | Bargates Children’s Centre was established in 1997. It is housed in a beautifully converted Victorian school (originally known as the ‘British School’ in 1861) situated near the centre of Leominster in the Bargates Conservation Area. Standing well back from the road Bargates provides a safe, stimulating, fully equipped and homely environment in which children from the age of 3 months can play, learn and grow. A team of highly motivated and suitably qualified staff work to respond to the needs of the children. Standards of care exceed the legislative requirements. In 2017 the Nursery was judged as ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted and again in 2023. You may be assured that your child will spend happy hours at Bargates engaged in enjoyable and worthwhile activities, closely supervised in small, age specific, groups – baby room, toddler room, 2 year old room, rising 3’s room and pre-school. Children’s interests and abilities are used as a basis for the planning of age and stage appropriate experiences. At Bargates children are given the opportunity to practise a wide range of skills through activities which will encourage enthusiasm and excitement for learning. The experiences at Bargates will contribute to all aspects of a child’s development and will encourage creativity & individuality.
