Service Description:
Down On The Farm – Our Setting
Down On The Farm Day Care Nursery offers high quality care and early education for babies and children from six months to five years. Our setting provides a safe, stimulating and rural environment where every child is nurtured, valued, and encouraged to reach their full potential.
Established on 16th April 2007, our purpose built log cabin is designed to meet the needs of up to seventeen children. Inside, children enjoy a wide range of engaging, play based learning opportunities, supported by carefully chosen resources that inspire curiosity and independence.
A Hygge Inspired Environment
As a hygge setting, we place great importance on creating a warm, cosy and calming atmosphere where children feel secure and at home. Soft lighting, natural materials, comfortable spaces and a gentle rhythm to the day help children settle, explore and build strong relationships. Our approach encourages togetherness, mindfulness and a sense of wellbeing, allowing children to learn and grow in an environment that feels both nurturing and joyful.
Outdoors, we are fortunate to have a large, secure area that includes raised beds for gardening activities and an undercover shelter, allowing children to explore and play in all weather. Being based on a working farm gives us a truly unique advantage: children experience real day to day farm life, from seasonal changes in the fields to the routines of caring for animals.
We regularly take the children on walks around the farm and up through the fields, giving them space to run, discover, and connect with nature. Our friendly animals including horses, chickens and cows. Offering wonderful opportunities for hands on learning, empathy, and confidence building.
At Down On The Farm, we are committed to providing a relaxed, friendly, and exciting environment where children thrive, families feel welcome, and every day brings something new to explore.
