Service Description:
Mordiford Dragons follows the ethos of child-led learning using natural resources and open-ended materials to fully express their ideas and creativity. Children learn through play with qualified staff supporting, challenging and reinforcing learning through sensitive interactions.

Staff record children’s progress and development using a learning journey, which can only be accessed by parents/carers. We always celebrate independent learning and achievement. We hold regular discussions with parents about children’s development and also liaise with the local health visiting team for the 2 year progress checks. We will always try to work in partnership with any other professionals and agencies that are involved with your child, such as SaLT, the CDC or family support.

We have one room with direct access outside to a stimulating and exciting natural outdoor environment. We ensure that we offer free flow between indoors and outdoors in all weathers, and we offer forest school sessions to all ages in the local area.

We value Continuous Professional Development for all of our staff, and ensure opportunities for training in all aspects of EYFS are made available. In addition staff have first aid and safeguarding qualifications.

We follow a conflict resolution approach to behaviour, teaching children how to identify and resolve conflict, initially with adult support and then independently. We strongly believe in intrinsic motivation of children, and promote positive behaviour through encouragement and support.
